Classic Lemon Garlic Hummus

Simple. Nutty. Velvety. Does it really get any better than that? Brightness from the lemon combined with a kick from the garlic work together to make the perfect quick dip for a party (or at home on the couch, we won’t tell anyone.)

Hummus

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

 

Ingredients

  • 2 cans garbanzo beans (chickpeas)

  • 3-4 garlic cloves (minced)

  • 3-4 ice cubes

  • ⅓ cup tahini paste

  • ½ tsp salt

  • Juice of one lemon

  • Hot water (as needed)

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Sumac 

  • 2 bags of Snap Cheese Straws

Instructions

  1. Add garbanzo beans and minced garlic to the bowl of a food processor. Puree until smooth, powder-like mixture forms.

  2. While the processor is running, add ice cubes, tahini, salt, and lemon juice. Blend for about 4 minutes. If the consistency is too thick, add a small amount of hot water.

  3. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with extra virgin olive oil and sumac. 

  4. Serve with Snap Cheese Straws and enjoy!
